Anytime Pakora (Lentil Fritters)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chana dal (Bengal Gram)
  • 0.25 cups of urad dal
  • 1 small bunch of coriander leaves
  • 1 medium sized onion
  • 5-6 pieces of green chili
  • 1-inch ginger
  • Oil to fry
  • Salt per taste

  • 10 minutes

  • 10 minutes

Cooking Instructions

  • Take the urad dal and chana dal in a bowl, wash it and soak the dal for 5-6 hours
  • After 5-6 hours strain the water and put the dal in a mixer
  • To the dal add green chili and ginger and coarse grind all ingredient
  • Take out the coarsely ground mixture in a bowl and to it add salt, coriander leaves and finely chopped onions
  • Heat a thick bottomed pan on the oven and add oil to fry the pakoras
  • Make small patty or balls of the coarsely grounded lentil mixture and add to the oil once heated
  • Slowly stir and turn them both sides and fry
  • Once the pakoras are slightly brown on both sides, take them out and serve it with green chutney (refer the Green Chutney Recipe)
